I purchased this product because it had night vision. I repair trailers for a living and tow a trailer with all my tools. Sometimes I have to hook up when it's dark and using the camera I'm able to hook up first time every time. I have recommended this back up camera system to several of my customers.
Easy install and works well. Night vision works well. Some other wireless transmissions can cause minor bliping but this unit tolerates it well. I hooked it up to my marker lights so I can use it at will not just in backup. It has a wide field of vision.
I purchased this back up camera online. I choose this model because it had better "night vision" with it. Had color monitor installed in front overhead storage compartment on an 07' Toyota Tundra. Works Great! back up camera located on the top of license plate frame gives a nice view of what you can't see with tailgate up! Although the monitor's view is a little small, it still serves it's purpose. I can see to line up the trailer hitch on the boat, and hopefully it'll keep me from backing into, or over something. Heck of alot cheapier than the factory backup camera cost. Hope it lasts!
A must for every vehicle. One quick look and the use of your side view mirrors makes sure you won't have an accident. I have one on each of my family vehicles and plan to get one for my motor home and truck at work. Easy to install, great low cost compared to other products on the market.
Relatively easy to install, if you don't mind taking door panels etc. off to get at wiring for reverse lights. Monitor powers on to a blank screen quite often while driving, so you may want to turn it off and then turn it on when you need it. Other than that, excellent product especially for price paid.
This product does serve it's purpose but the wireless portion of it is somewhat fuzzy. The picture is not constant sometimes. It fuzzes on and off but for hooking up a trailer it does it's job. I would have rather have it "wired" if it would work better. But for the money it costs, you can't buy another for that price. If you are a perfectionists, this isn't for you.
The monitor is very good with a sharp picture. The camera takes in such a large panaroma that is is difficult to readily see smaller objects. The camera also will frost-over in cold weather rendering it almost useless. In my State and on a pickup, the camera mounting obscures the state name and most of the license decals making it a suspect illegal mounting configuration. I tried it there but quickly relocated to another location. Something to consider.
The cameral itself seemed pretty decent, it was simple to install, the picture was clear, the night vision was a definite plus. However, the camera is supposed to be "weatherproof" - possibly it is, if you DO NOT install the camera out in the 'open' - if you mount the camera on the license plate then it will set in, a bit - with an 'overhang' of some sort - however, if you install the camera out in the open (such as I did on my Astro Van, I mounted it to the top of the back doors and hooked it up to my 'brake light' which worked out well, except the camera was totally exposed to the elements and in turn became damaged.) The entire back of the camera is open with no cover/protection from the rain, which gets under the camera lens and distorts the picture and eventally elminates the picture completely. I do NOT recommend mounting the camera any place that does not have some sort of 'over hang" if so, your camera will become useless such as mine did which I ended up returning for a refund! I hope this helps!
I have written very few reviews and I thank Walmart for giving me this opportunity. This camera is the perfect size, but is one of the worst receptions I've ever experienced. I own a large Ford F150, and the camera is wired to the reverse wires. Maybe the Camera is to far from the monitor? I would not recommend this particular Monitor and Camera because the reception is so bad, The picture is intermitent and scratchy, it really doesn't give the driver a chance to get his bearing. If the reception were better, it would be a good setup. As it is, I waisted my money!!! If I could ask for money back, I would!
Monitor would flash and not show a clear view in order to be able to back up with truck. Ordered this online and returned to store. Ended up buying the more expensive one and it works great.
